“Lord, Grant Us Boldness”

A Call to Stand with the Persecuted Church – A Reflection on Acts 4:29

“Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.”
Acts 4:29

Dear Friends and Partners in the Gospel,

When the early church was threatened, arrested, and publicly shamed for proclaiming Jesus, they didn’t plead with God for safety or relief. They didn’t ask for the pressure to stop. Instead, they lifted their voices together and prayed for one thing: boldness.

That simple but powerful prayer from Acts 4:29 is not just a historical footnote—it’s a living cry, echoing from our brothers and sisters around the world today. In the face of suffering and persecution, they are asking not for escape, but for courage. And here at Endure International, we are listening—and standing with them.

The Church Is Bleeding—But Still Bold

Every week, we receive heartbreaking updates from across the globe—Christians attacked, churches burned, families displaced. These are not distant strangers. They are our family in Christ.

🇸🇩 Sudan Updates

In North Darfur, coordinated airstrikes by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) targeted three churches in El Fasher. Five people, including a local priest, were killed. Dozens more were wounded as buildings meant for worship became scenes of devastation.

🇮🇩 Indonesia Updates

On June 27, nearly 200 extremists stormed a peaceful Christian youth retreat in West Java. They vandalized property, hurled threats, and terrified young people who had simply come to seek God. The authorities did nothing. The message sent? You are not safe here.

🇸🇾 Syria Updates

In just one month, over 50 attacks were reported against Christian communities:

  • In Damascus, a suicide bomber detonated during a church service, killing at least 22 believers and injuring over 60 others.
  • In Sweida and Tartus, churches were torched. Christian homes and gathering places were deliberately targeted. Another bombing was narrowly stopped.

These stories are painful. They are real. And yet—miraculously—these believers continue to choose Christ. With tears, with courage, with faith that defies fear.

We Are Not Without Hope

Jesus promised:

“On this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
Matthew 16:18

We believe this with all our hearts. Even when we witness so much suffering, we know God’s kingdom is not crumbling—it is advancing. The enemy’s fiercest attacks cannot stop the gospel. In fact, they only prove that the gospel is alive and threatening the darkness.

We are watching a holy, radiant boldness rise from the ashes. And we are honored to stand shoulder to shoulder with those who refuse to deny Christ—no matter the cost.

How Endure International Is Responding

Thanks to your prayers and generous support, we are:

  • Providing emergency aid to persecuted families: shelter, trauma care, food, and essentials.
  • Equipping the underground church with discipleship tools, training, and “Boldness in Crisis” media—so they can grow in faith even under pressure.
  • Mobilizing global prayer, uniting voices across borders to say: “Lord, strengthen Your church.”

Will You Lift Your Voice with Us?

Please join us in praying for:

  • Courageous boldness for believers facing violence, threats, and isolation.
  • Divine protection for those sharing Jesus in dangerous places.
  • Healing and restoration for churches and families in Sudan, Syria, and Indonesia.
  • Wisdom and strength for local pastors—like Pastor Rami in Syria—who are leading in the fire.

How You Can Stand With Them

1. Pray – Prayer is not a last resort; it is our frontline. It fuels endurance, comfort, and spiritual breakthrough.

2. Give – Your gifts help us respond swiftly to crisis, and to keep discipling and encouraging believers under fire.

3. Share – Don’t let their stories go unnoticed. Speak up. Spread the word. Help others watch, pray, and stand.

In Times of Threat, the Church Prays for Boldness – They don’t retreat, they don’t hide, they don’t give up. They pray for the strength to keep proclaiming Christ. And we must do the same. So, let us not shrink back in comfort or fear. Let us run—on our knees—toward the fire.

Boldness, not silence.
Courage, not comfort.
Christ—no matter the cost.

Together for the persecuted church,
The Endure International Team

“And when they had prayed… they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.”
Acts 4:31
